Questions owners ask
What does CoreLayer actually do?
We set up and run the systems behind your growth: getting found online, bringing in leads, closing sales, following up and moving work between teams. A senior operator leads the work, AI goes in only where it saves time, and a monthly scorecard shows what changed.
Who is this for?
Owner-led businesses doing roughly $1M to $25M a year, where growth depends too much on the owner or on referrals.
We tried a consultant and nothing changed. Why is this different?
CoreLayer builds what it recommends. The audit produces a 90-day plan and the retainer is where we build it, with results tracked against your own baseline every month.
Isn’t AI mostly hype?
Most AI pitches oversell. We start with the tools you already pay for and add AI only where it saves measurable time or improves a decision. Many of the fixes we find involve no AI at all.
Can we afford this?
The audit maps your current contractor, agency, software and ad spend. Where some of it can be redirected, that spend helps fund the work. The audit fee credits toward an engagement.
Who actually does the work?
A CoreLayer principal leads every engagement and stays accountable for results. Specialists from our bench join where the work needs them. Every person is named in the statement of work.
Are we too small for this?
Engagements are sized to the business. A starter engagement focuses on the one area with the fastest payback.
How long until we see results?
The audit takes two weeks. The first build ships in the first month. The monthly scorecard shows exactly what moved.
We already have an agency and an IT provider.
We work alongside the partners you have. The audit shows where each one fits and where the gaps are. You decide what changes.
How long is the commitment?
The audit runs two weeks. A starter engagement runs six months. The growth retainer has a three-month minimum.
Who owns what you build?
You do. Everything is documented so your team can run it after the engagement.
Do you give accounting or tax advice?
No. That stays with your CPA and finance team. We connect their systems to the core.
Where do you work?
We’re based in San Antonio and work with owner-led businesses here first, then across Texas.
